In 1994, Philip Spiteri took over the running of Il-Kartell. Together with his team he managed to keep the Kartell regular customers crossing over to Gozo all year round, while looking after the Gozitan and foreign clientele and consolidating the service.

Today Marina Street in Marsalforn Bay is the hub of this tourist resort. Numerous bars, restaurants, gelateria, souvenir shops and dive centers fringe the beach.
